Nothing says the end of summer like the monumental Minnesota State Fair. From new items at local restaurants for food connoisseurs to the range of eye-catching contests, performances and livestock, there’s something for everyone across the twelve days of the fair— Aug. 26 through Labor Day (Sept. 6). Minnesota State Fair Location

If you’re planning for your trip to the St. Michael-area State Fair, you might be wondering “What’s the MInnesota State location?” Mid-way between Minneapolis and St. Paul lies the 322-acre Minnesota State Fairgrounds showcasing stunning gardens and architecture. The fairgrounds address is 1265 Snelling Ave. N., St. Paul, MN 55108. Here’s some quick directions to get to the Minnesota State Fair location:

• Coming from the north: Take I-35W south. Merge onto Highway 36 East via Exit 23B on the left. Exit onto Snelling Avenue South.
• Coming from the south: Take I-35W north to I-94 East. Exit on Snelling Avenue, then turn left and head north. Or take I-35E north to I-94 west. Exit on Snelling Avenue, then turn right and head north.
• Coming from the east: Take I-94 west to Snelling Avenue, then turn right and head north.
• Coming from the west: Take I-94 east to Snelling Avenue, then turn left and head north.

What to Expect at the State Fair

This Minnesotan tradition that has become the signal for the end of summer actually began as a territorial fair in 1854 to highlight agricultural achievement and encourage other farming in the area. It wasn’t until 1859, a year after Minnesota was granted statehood, that it officially became the Minnesota State Fair where it grew its legacy as one of the most popular attractions in the area. The State Fair continues to showcase Minnesota’s finest agriculture, art and industry.
